This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which JobJot (https://jobjotai.com) collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users of our website. 2. Information We Collect 2.1 Personal Information: - Email address (required for account creation) - Name (optional, for personalization) - Payment information (processed securely through Stripe, not stored on our servers) - Resume content and job application materials (uploaded by you) - Job preferences you give our job agent (titles, locations, salary floor) - For employers posting jobs: company details, a work email and the job post 2.2 Usage Information: - Feature usage statistics (to manage plan limits) - Browser and device information - IP address (for security and fraud prevention; for visitors without an account we store only a one-way hash of it) 2.3 Cookies and Tracking: - Authentication cookies (to keep you logged in) - Analytics cookies (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, to understand how our service is used). Resume and application content is masked from Clarity session recordings. - We do not use third-party advertising cookies 2.4 Data We Do NOT Collect: - We do not track your browsing history outside our platform - We do not collect biometric data - We do not share your information with data brokers 3. How We Use Your Information 3.1 To Provide Services: - Compare your resume with job descriptions - Generate tailored resumes, cover letters, application answers and interview prep - Find and shortlist jobs for you (job agent) - Manage your subscription and billing 3.2 To Improve Our Platform: - Understand which features are most valuable - Fix bugs and improve performance - Develop new features based on usage patterns 3.3 To Communicate With You: - Send sign-in links, subscription confirmations and receipts - Send your job shortlist if you turn on the job agent (you can turn this off anytime) - Notify you of important service updates - Respond to your support requests 3.4 What We Do NOT Do: - We do NOT sell your data to third parties - We do NOT share your resume with anyone, unless you accept an employer's interview invitation (see 6.4) - We do NOT use your data for advertising to third parties - We do NOT track you across other websites 4. Data Storage and Security 4.1 Where Data is Stored: Your data is stored securely using Supabase (cloud database) with encryption at rest and in transit. 4.2 Payment Processing: All payments are processed through Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card information. 4.3 Resume Storage: We keep the text of your resume, not the file you upload. Your resume and generated documents are only accessible by you when logged into your account. If you turn on employer invitations, employers who post on JobJot can see an anonymous summary of your profile (see 6.4). 4.4 Security Measures: We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and bot protection. 5. Data Retention and Deletion 5.1 Active Accounts: We retain your data as long as your account is active. 5.2 Canceled Subscriptions: If you cancel your subscription, your account and data remain accessible unless you request deletion. 5.3 Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all your data at any time from your Profile page. You can also email hello@jobjotai.com and we will do it within 30 days. 5.4 Backup Retention: Deleted data may remain in backups for up to 90 days before being permanently purged. 6. Data Sharing and Third Parties 6.1 Service Providers We Use: - Supabase: Database and authentication (https://supabase.com) - Stripe: Payment processing (https://stripe.com) - OpenAI: Generating tailored documents, application answers and interview prep - Vercel: Website hosting and bot protection - Resend: Sending emails - Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity: Website analytics 6.2 What We Share: - We share only the minimum necessary data with service providers to operate our platform - Resume content is sent to OpenAI for processing but is not used to train their models - Payment information goes directly to Stripe and is never seen by us 6.3 What We Never Share: - We never sell your personal information - We never share your resume or job search data with recruiters or employers, except as described in 6.4 when you choose to - We never provide your information to marketing companies or data brokers 6.4 Employer Invitations (Optional, Off by Default): - You can turn on "Let employers on JobJot invite me to interview" in your profile, and turn it off at any time. - While it is on, employers who post a job on JobJot can see an anonymous summary when your resume is a strong fit for their job: your most recent job title, years of experience, city and state, and which of the job's requirements your resume shows. They never see your name, contact details or employers before you accept. - An employer can send you an invitation with a short note. If you accept, we send that employer your name, email and resume. If you decline, they are told only that you declined. - Employers must use your details only for hiring for that job. 7. Your Privacy Rights 7.1 Access: You can download all your data at any time from your profile. 7.2 Correction: You can update your account information and resume directly in your account. 7.3 Deletion: You can delete your account and data from your Profile page, or by emailing hello@jobjotai.com. 7.4 Opt-Out: You can opt out of emails by clicking unsubscribe in any email. 7.5 California Residents (CCPA): California residents have additional rights including the right to know what data is collected and the right to request deletion. 8. Children's Privacy JobJot is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. 9. Changes to This Privacy Policy 9.1 We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. 9.2 Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect. 9.3 The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when changes were last made. 10.
